Marc O. Lammers, Ph.D.

Curriculum Vitae

Marc is a co-founder and President of OSI. He holds a B.A. and a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Hawaii where he studied under Dr. Whitlow Au. He presently leads the Acoustics Program at NOAA's Coral Reef Ecosystem Division (CRED) and is an Assistant Researcher at the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology. His research interests are varied, but are primarily focused on marine bioacoustics and cetacean behavior. His work in this field has yielded numerous scientific publications. Marc is an active collaborator with researchers in Hawaii, Washington, Alaska, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Iceland. His interests in marine science are broad and range in scope from research to education and conservation. He has worked on projects focused on a variety of topics and marine organisms including corals, fish, turtles, dolphins and whales. Marc is also part of the Research Committee of the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sancturay Advisory Council.
